An online platform for bridge-specific fragility analysis of as-built and retrofitted bridges

Bridges are the most critical and usually vulnerable structural component of a road network exposed to various hazards. Damage due recent earthquakes worldwide highlighted substantial direct indirect financial losses related partial or total collapse bridge components pointed need for reliable assessment their seismic performance. This paper presents ‘toolkit’ developed bridge-specific fragility analysis bridges; it is implemented on “two-track” online platform, including ad-hoc software curve derivation, as well option select an appropriate set generic curves from database broad range classes. Three alternative options estimation component-specific limit state thresholds provided; selection extensive lists with available piers, bearings abutments, calculation as-built retrofitted piers based (a) closed-form relationships, (b) inelastic pushover capacity parametrically defined pier model (carried out online). Details regarding developed, methodology curves, all features presented discussed herein. The application illustrated through two case studies involving derivation bridges different systems properties.
